Anyone using Vortex Diamondback 10x42's?

I have the chance to buy these binos for $215 including shipping/tax.  These are cheaper than the Leupold Cascades I used to have. I was very happy with my Leupolds....paid over $300 about 5 years ago, but they were stolen not long ago.

I've been in the market for a new pair, and these Vortex have great reviews. I've seen multiple positive reviews from several different websites. Just wondering if anyone here has used them and what you think.

Enlighten me.

While I have not had the diamondbacks, I have a few pair of Vortex binoculars. I have a set of Razor 8x42 and a set of Fury 8x36. In my opinion, Vortex is one of the best bangs for your buck in optics. Also their warranty is second to none. I say buy them, you will not regret it.

I believe the Vipers are a notch above (and many dollars above) the Diamondbacks.  

Anyone else have experience with the Diamondbacks?

i had a pair of 10x42 diamondbacks for a few years traded em and bought a pair of redfield rebels at half that price in a 8x32 and think they are clearer  a little smaller and lighter also check out the minox binos,do the research and see what people say ,the vortex warranty is great though.when you start to get into the HD models on the vortex the quality goes up like the talon or the viper.good luck.

I should have added this in my original post, but a few years ago, I compared the diamondbacks to a set of Nikon Monarchs, and even at them being a $100 cheaper, I thought the Diamond backs were even brighter and clearer than the Nikons.

Also, I have had a pair of the leupold cascades, and I was less than impressed. I love leupold scopes, but I have not had a pair of their Binos that I really liked.

I keep a pair  in my truck and so far am happy with them (A side note, I believe every vehicle should have  set of binoculars that never never leave the vehicle.) &  They don't compare to my Lecia's or Swarovski's but at a fraction of the cost I don't worry about abusing them or breaking when bouncing around in rough terrain.  I replaced an old pair of Leopold Wind Rivers 10x40's with them last spring and I believe the lenses are clearer.  I should qualify that, the Wind River's were great for the price, withstanding a lot of abuse and out lasting three trucks. Only reason I replaced them was because the eye cups wouldn't stay up/in place while looking through them.

I've been using the 10x42's for a while now, and love them to death.  It was a toss up between these and the Bushnell Legends, but the Vortex warranty just can't be beat.

I really do think that for under $300, the Diamondbacks are the best bang for the buck.  The Viper glass is certainly better though if you can make the jump (I'm using a Viper spotting scope, and it's very good).

I have all vortex optics 10x50 viper HD's, razor spotting scope,and there 1000yd range finder for when I guide, can't beat their warranty and their customer service. had the  razor and the big name german scope  side by side to compare, the razor held it's own, for a whole lot less money.I think you will be happy with the diamond backs,I know a guy that ran over a pair of vortex bino that fell out of his truck broke in severel pieces, sent them to vortex told them what happened they sent him a new pair no questions asked.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I think I am going to hold out for now and curtail my search for something a little smaller.
