Arrow "kicks" to the right ?
«
on:
November 09, 2013, 03:45:00 PM »
I noticed my arrows kicking to the right (the nock end) in mid flight and not sure why. Any suggestions.
My bow is 59@28
Cx350 cut to 31"BOP
260 gr field tip
100 gr brass insert
I've used this setup for years but noticed this this afternoon.
My brace height is the same also , brace height is suggested 6 3/4 to 7" , I have it set at 7"
The bow is cut to center and is fast flight

If your just noticing it. Maybe your form is changing.
If you could make a box for paper tuning it might give you a
Idea what is happening.

I've got a similar set-up that shoots darts, no wobble, pitch, yaw, anything EXCEPT when my form goes to hell. Then I just have to take my time and usually within a dozen or so arrows I am back on track. Fortunately it doesn't happen very often.

As a matter of fact my bow quiver broke and I was shooting if without a quiver and that's when I noticed it, think that has something to do with if?

I wouldn't be surprised. As we all know, sometimes the littlest things will cause our arrows to go screwy. There are times that just "thinking" a bad shot will cause it  so who knows. I'd just try shooting as you normally do without thinking about it.

Torquing can cause that. Having the added mass of the quiver may have buffered it.

Almost definitely the quiver, I notice a big difference when I take mine off. Less riser weight means its more likely to kick.

Torque is good in pick-up truck engines, not in shooting a bow. lol

Almost sounds like your arrow was borderline weak spine to me, and you picked up just a touch more cast which threw it off.
I know if I shot that arrow off my 55@27 bow, with that much weight, it would certainly spine weak, but we're all different

Might be worth checking the nock to string fit. I had some similar go-rounds and I opened my nocks up just whisker and it seemed to help.
