Who Has a Samick STINGRAY??
« on: November 09, 2013, 11:21:00 PM »
Hey all,

I have been interested in this bow ever since I seen one posted by another archer on a TRAD board.  I thought it was really attractive and the few comments he gave were positive.  The problem is that info about these bows doesn't show up very often at all.

I'd like to know more about it.  I've thought about getting one a few times.  I shoot 45 pounds and am wondering how it would compare to my 1970 Grizzly.  How does that different styled grip feel?  That's the only thing that gives me a bit of pause on it.

Also, do they come in different shades?  In the few pics I have seen of them, some of them were lighter than others.

Any info you care to post would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

I'd really like to handle and shoot one, but that's about impossible in my locale.

Yeah I figured they were a "Poor Mans" Widow 1 piece.

Do they shoot heavy arrows well or do they prefer lighter arrows?

Thanks

I think widow sax is spot on. I have a TF III, (built for me in 2002), and the "Stingray" looks very, very familiar. It also reminds me, somewhat, of my very first recurve, a circa 1970 Bear Kodiak Hunter. (Loved that bow.)

I almost bought one a while back just to try it out, but ended up passing on it.  They seem to get good reviews from those who have actually shot them.

I had one and really liked it. They shoot great and hit where ya look. It was just a little shorter in length than I like so I sold it to a fellow ganger. He actually killed a turkey with it shortly after he got it. The grip felt great to me, helped get you in the same spot every time. Good luck!

I have one and it is a goto bow for me. I sold my customs after I bought it. Fast, Smooth and accurate with no handshock. The forward grip is conducive to accuracy and forgiveness of a bad release. I took a mule deer buck the first year I got it. It's 55#@ 28". I pull 28".

I have a nice Lefty that I am getting ready to list soon.  They are great little bows for sure.
