Broadhead adapter question??
« on: November 19, 2013, 11:38:00 AM »
Hello gents,

I am making my first foray into adapters for using glue on broadheads with my goldtips.  I have never used them before, and had some questions about mounting.  Do I need a spinner to check them for straightness?  If not what are some of your preferred methods for mounting them correctly?

Thanks in advance,

Jake

I do it like this.

The spinner doesn't have to be fancy. It takes all the fight out of it and gives you perfect tip alignment.

Definitely some type of spinner.

I check the adaptors by screwing them in and checking for orbit.
The aluminum adaptors many times are not good.
The steel adaptors are much better.

JimB's link is excellent.  That method will work with any glue on broadhead mounting.  I do basically the same thing with my wood arrows and hot melt glue, but my "spinner" isn't quite as fancy.  You can't see my target dot, but it's there.

Thanks a whole lot, gentlemen.  Just got them mounted good and straight.  The spinner was rudimentary but it got the job done.  I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
