I bought my first Lynx a couple of years ago, a 40# longbow that I shoot in the longbow division of 3D shoots. I liked it well enough that when a 45# Lynx longbow came up for sale here in the classifieds, I bought it too. Lo and behold, when it arrived, I found that it had a different grip from my old one, that I didn't like as well. I called Dan to see if he would make me a new riser to match my old one, which he said he would, and said to send in the riser I didn't want and he would give me something for it. Later, he called back and asked me to send him both risers so he could match my old one perfectly. I was a little reluctant to do that, but I have other bows I can shoot so I went ahead and sent him both risers. Two weeks later he called and told me my new riser was ready and he offered me more money on the one I didn't want than I thought was fair, so I talked him down $50. I can't imagine ever shooting any other longbow in a tournament than my Lynx. I'm mainly a recurve shooter, so a pure longbow shooter might feel differently about it, but I shoot the Lynx a lot better than I've ever shot any other longbow.
I am completely satisfied with all my dealings with Dan, and I'm sure you will be too.
Another time, I saw an ad for some limbs from another well known bowyer, and I had always wanted a bow made by him. So I called him and asked how long it would take to make me a riser if I bought the limbs. Two years! I passed on those limbs.
