Split fingers on bow tillered for 3 under
«

I just bought a R/D bow tillered for 3 under that I plan to shoot split fingeres. How should I go about tuning it. Any problems associated with this arrangement? Thanks.

I just setup 5/8" on string nock and double nock (top and bottom). I can honestly say that I have never been able to tell the difference in performance or noise. Good Luck, and enjoy your new bow!!!

I shoot split fingered with even (3-under) tiller. I have found, for me, that it works best. I also have a messed up index finger on my drawing hand which makes it where I cannot put the same influence on the string with that finger as people with normal fingers. Don't know if that makes the difference, but i do prefer an even tiller.

Good luck. I have never liked 3 under tiller bows shooting split. I put alot of top finger into the bowstring that may be why.

The only way it will make any difference is if you shoot with a low pressure point on the grip. I tiller 95% of the bows i build dead even for both split finger or 3 under. the only thing you'll have to do is lower your string nock closer to the shelf for split if you are shooting off the rug.

What Kirk said. In fact I tiller most of my bows even for three under and only 1/16 to 1/8 postiv e if a person shoots split. I say 1/16 to 1/8 because in some bows they are timed better at one place or another. I tiller at a slightly heavier poundage and then work into the weight maintaining the tiller and timing.
In your case you should not have any problems getting great arrow flight with the right arrows and just barely above level with the arrow if you shoot off the shelf.
God bless, Steve

Sure appreciate you bowyers jumping in on this. I will set the nock point and give it a try. Thanks, Brian.
