A wonderfull night
« on: December 01, 2013, 07:04:00 PM »
Sat in a stand on a steep valley hillside tonight.  Had one doe come by just after sunset, so I wasn't feeling skunked about seeing any deer.

I stood up and got ready in case a buck might be following.  I got busted big time and chewed out royally.

Unbeknown to me two bald eagles had landed about 50 feet behind me in the top of a tree at about my level or a little lower.   They screamed and fussed for nearly 5 minutes over me moving.   Then they yelled at me again when I went to leave for the night.

I don't usually take to well to getting chewed out but this was an exception.

Nice! I once set up on a ridge close to a mining pit/lake and had a immature eagle fly by at about 10 yards. I thought I was going to fall out of my treestand...what a rush!

its really cool to see the eagles coming back in such good numbers. in the late 60's & 70's we used to see them all the time here in Oregon.... then very few for 30 years were seen. Now days we see more and more of them.... they are very cool birds up close, but kind of intimidating.

Really neat to busted by 2 eagles. I see them often here in the Mohawk Valley. Really cool to have coffee on the deck in the AM and have one cruse by.
