Although this happened during Michigans gun season I thought it was worth mentioning. The Monday after the opener here the local TV station out of Marquette in the UP has an outdoor show and it featured Ron LaClairs Shew Haven Lodge in their half hour show on the traditions of Michigans deer hunting camps. I really enjoyed the piece and listening to Ron and the group of guys he had in camp at the time. It really gave you an idea of the great commerodery that goes with hunting camps. It was the next morning that I had my "great experience", walking into my stand the next morning the wolves were howling all around, I have to admit it was a little unnerving, but it was great to hear. Around 8:30 in the morning I had my closest and only experience with a wolf in the wild, it came troting over a ridge and after I shooed it away, and later paced it off in the snow, 26 steps!!!! AWSOME EXPERIENCE!!!!! I know the reverence that Ron has for the wolf, and I felt like after watching the show about Rons camp, I was given the opportunity to have this great experience. I am truely grateful for this.
