After switching to longbows with a low wrist grip a good while back to help with a shoulder issue, I am able to shoot my recurves again. I've been doing the exercises and the stretches as prescribed and as the shoulder got stronger I realized that I could shoot a higher wrist grip again and the added mass weight of the recurve without setting my shoulder on fire. I still get a slight twinge if I over do it (50+ shots) on my shooting sessions, but less than two years ago I couldn't shoot a recurve for more that 10 or twelve shots without a lot of pain.
I swapped a couple of my longbows for a newer Widow PSA that will be here on Monday and if I can get her tuned up I plan to finish out the season with her. If not, I have my Timberhawk recurve as well. I still have my PLII and I do enjoy shooting it, but I am really excited to be able to be able to enjoy the recurve again.
