So I happened to be in Idaho ...
« on: December 08, 2013, 07:33:00 PM »
… and figured it'd be a great idea to "swing by" Montana and visit the Toelkes and Montana Bows     :D

It was a real pleasure and privilege to meet Dan and his wife and their son Jared. And it was "kid in a candy store" fun to get to shoot a bunch of *very*, very nice bows. Dan even took the time to give me form advice and pointers, as well as a "tour" of the wood options of the treasure trove of exotic woods he uses.

Having spent time in my dad's wood shop as a kid, it was fun and impressive to see Toelke's shop and the expertise, care and attention to detail they put into every bow they make.

Speaking of bows - I left "empty handed", but with a head full of ideas. Their bows are just so well balanced and sweet shooting that I may have to sell a bow or two to finance a custom 2-piece whip.

Thanks to the Toelkes for a great day and a great experience.

Thanks Tom - the same to you. And I'll just tell my wife that you told me to go for it   ;)

TxAg - If you get the opportunity, you should. It was definitely worth it.
