Can anyone tell me if there are any traditional archery clubs and shops in the Western NY area?  Erie, Cattaragus, Chattaqua or Niagara county?

I am not aware of any Trad only clubs, but traditional archery is alive and well in WNY.  There are a fair number of tradarchers at Double T in Amherst NY and an even latger number at Hawkeye Bowmen in Marilla, NY.  Both club hold Traditional Shoots.  Hawkeye is done with it's public shoots for the year, but Double T usually has a shoot at the end of Sept, early October for traditional.

A buddy of mine teaches selfbow building classes.  Also there is Gerry Fiegl of Northwind Bows builds some of the best shooting bows at reasonable prices in the industry.  There are plenty of guys with know how willing to share.

Best of luck,

Glenn

Don't know of any traditional only clubs as Glenn has mentioned.

Hawkeye is a great club. I believe we are at about 60% traditional members out of about 130 individuals.

To tell you the truth, I rarely see wheel bows except for a few that start to come out about this time of year. Even then I usually only see them shooting from the elevated deck or field archery targets up top.

Here is a look at our elevated deck and some targets beneath, and a few in our woods:
