Heading for a DIY Hog hunt in January - any suggestions?
« on: December 27, 2013, 09:52:00 AM »
I am looking for some public land Hog hunting area where I can camp for a few days. I will be driving from the NJ. I intend to do it in the middle of January 2014.

Does anybody have any recommendations for state land in NC, SC or Northern Georgia with open seasons in January for hog.

Thanks
Gil

GA WMAs and forests run with small game hunting when it comes to hogs. So any WMA or National Forest in GA that allows small game is OK for hog hunting.

As far as hog numbers... North GA is tough. South west GA is a lot easier.

Give Robert Carter a yell.  I bet he could point you in the right direction.

I'd love to do the Hill hunt but I can't plan an exact date due to work. Also this year I was shooting a old '59 Bear Kodiak and put my Hill down for the year. I wish I could make it.

I am trying to avoid those two WMAs so I don't interfere with the Hill hunt.

Thanks
