There is a large contingency of Traditional Archery proponents and promotors in and aroun Hickory (not too far from you) where they also hold the State Trad meet every June. I'm sure some one will be along with more specific info. If not check the State forums on here. We have a lot of NC folks on here - and Welcome!

Hey Bluemoose,

I live in Winston-Salem just down the road.  You have some choices not all of them great at this time of the year though.

There is Gander Mountain near the mall off of I-40.  Indoor range.

There is a great archery club in Kernersville called Stick and Wheel.  They usually have 2 different ranges up for their tournament days.  One for the Wheelies and one for the trad folks.

North in Montgomery county there is another archery club called Montgomery archery ( its on 220 north past oak ridge.)

There is a club in Randleman (220 South)

Probably one of the coolest is Sissipaw in Burlington, an all trad archery club.

Now for the bad news.  All of these clubs are closed down during Hunting Season.  Some of them are open for Bale shooting on Sundays  (no hunting on Sundays in NC).

They all open up with their 3d target ranges in January.  Once they open they have a schedule where they rotate and have an archery Tournament every weekend until hunting season starts again.

Its a great region to practice traditional archery with a lot of great guys to shoot with.

Shoot me a pm if you want to get together and chat about the goings on.

Hope this helps,

Brian Gillispie

Don, I have a small traditional shop (Eagle's Flight Archery) in Mebane, NC which is only about 30 minutes away. There are targets around the yard, and  inside the shop. Right now we are shooting on Wednesday night at 6:30 PM. Call me if you can come down. You are welcome, and there is no charge. 919 563-2682
