Well Jan 1 is the last day of deer season in the northern zone of GA. To me usually it's bitter sweet. I'm not going to lie. I hunt a lot. I mean A LOT. So by this time of year I'm generally pretty tired and wore out. I enjoy taking others a lot during December and spending my time sitting around a fire drinking brown liquor and reading.
Jan 1 2014 found me sitting around my new fire pit at MC with a new friend Brad.
Brad's a guy from out in Oregon and we got hooked up thru a few mutual friends because he enjoys bow hunting. Not only that but he's learning to make his own bows. So he fits right in...
Here's Brad with his 45lb bow.
Midday it started to rain. Not much just a drizzle at first. But man was it a cold rain. In fact every time I got up and thought about heading to the stand. It'd give a little down pour... Finally I gave up. And spent the rest of the afternoon on the porch.
So my last day of the GA northern zone deer season was a day of shooting a few wood arrows around the camp.
The good thing about deer season being out is now we can get serious and small game hunt!!! Rabbits here we come!!!
