Anyone Heard of Deadeye Recurves? Jon Turner?
« on: January 07, 2014, 04:18:00 PM »
I was wondering if anyone had heard of "Deadeye Recurve" bows?  I just acquired a custom t/d recurve bow...really nice t/d with beautiful wood, well crafted and tight.  All it says is "Deadeye Recurve" hand scripted on the riser with a hand drawn arrow under it and "Jon Turner" with a hand drawn arrow under it...assuming it was made for Jon.  I think Jon knew what he was doing, the bow is in great shape but I can tell it has seen some time out hunt'n, the cedar arrows are tipped with self sharpened hair popp'n Zwickeys- one with some dried blood on it!  cool! I bought the bow for the quiver, which my uncle had made and no longer makes.  It's written as 61#@29 and matches up with my 64" bows.  Super thin limb tips that tracked up nice with groove and string...betting it's a screamer, but haven't shot it yet.  I searched on the net, no luck. Anyone?
