longbow riser w recurve limbs
« on: January 08, 2014, 02:13:00 PM »
I’ve been admiring several one piece bows with longbow style risers and recurve limbs and am thinking about picking one up.  Who has one and what do you think?  To me they are just stunning…
Thanks,
KSPete

also look at the Black widows.  The PRS is just what your asking about.  Long bow riser recurve limbs it weighs 1 3/4 lbs..  Looks good to me.

I also prefer the feel of a longbow riser.  I've gone to the hybrid long bows.  I currently shoot one by Don Dow.  I've been looking into other options myself and the PSR is a good one.  My hands just dont like the bigger recurve handles for some reason.

Dan Toelke's Chinook is worth looking at, I love mine and you couldn't ask for a better guy to deal with.

Great Northern Ghost is awsome. You can also get it with a straight or locator grip.

If you aren't set on buying new, searching for and finding a Saxon American Recurve would certainly fit the bill and save (quite) a few bucks.  I know that I love the way mine looks and shoots.

one of the best grips, longbow style I have ever had is A Rampart bow by John Goshawk sp?

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear sells them.  Mine was a recurve but a tad light for me.
Great great bow and very reasonably priced.  Very underrated.  You should look at them

many of the 50's style recurves have a slimmer, longbow type riser, if not exactly that type of grip.

take a look at the RER Retro, as well as the Maddog Retro.

this has become my personal favorite style of bow.

I still say the 1960 Kodiak is the best 50's style recurve ever built...Bear modelled it after the 1959 Kodiak...the 60 inch is great...the 64 inch is better

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42
