Quick and Quiet treestands

Anybody ever see these stands? Just wondering how the ridged V bar is compared to a flexible cable.

Loc on's are great lightweight stands. I have two Limit models that are light and quiet. When you hang them the floor part is lowered causing the stand to pull even tighter around the tree.

I bought mine back in 88!A good friend of mine (Bluemoonrising on this site)had one and i loved it. I still use it!! I like the v bar compared to a cable. I tried one of the cable models and took it back. I have used mine on smooth bark trees in the pouring down rain and never had a problem with it slipping. I didnt realize that they still made these stands. Nice to see they are still making them and making them in the USA! I dont think you will be sorry if you buy one. Cant wait to see there lock on stands!

I have one also that I bought in the 80's from LL Bean. Great stand, easy to set up light weight, I don't know why they didn't seem to catch on. Mine has the ridged bar also.

Is that the name? Quick and quiet? Where to find one? Weight rating?

Looks similar to Loggy Bayou. If I were you I would try a Lone Wolf before you buy. I have owned the Loggy and the Lone Wolf and there is no comparison.

Buck-eye: A good friend? Yeah, these climbers were the gold standard in my mind for decades. I still use my Woods and Water Quick and Quiet 25+ yrs later. They are strong, fairly light, safe, great for big guys, pricey--but worth every penny. Most guys want to buy the China Cheapy stands for $100 dollars or so. I want to know that I have the best stand under my butt when I'm 15 ft up a tree. Peace!

Scarecrow--I believe they were rated at 400 pounds, or so. Believe me, the aircraft aluminum made a safe stand.

LV2hunt: I also have a LW climber, a great stand. I believe it is the second best made stand available (damn belts). The Quick and Quiet is easier to climb than a LW, at least for me.  Both of these stands are/were very expensive, so most guys buy something from China at a fraction of the cost. Peace!

I don't know what stand you're referring to but if it has a rigid V bar stay away. I found them highly impractical and limited.

Flexible straps and cables for me.

I love my little Lone Wolf Assault II climber but I have two friends that have been using Quick and Quiet stands for over 20 years. They both have bought and sold off other brands of climbers. If these stands have a lot of limitations, I don't think these guys would have kept them for so long.

The 4 or 5 guys I know that have them and have used them for decades are quite happy with the stands. These guys are all big dudes--200 lbs plus. The American made LW climber is the only stand that can run with it in my book.  Peace!

I went to the Quick and Quiet website and looked at the stands. I did not see anything that justified the price. They have a lot of extra "gee whiz" type features but I think they would have a hard time competing with a Summit stand.
I have several stands with a steel V bar and they work quite well. Never had one slip and they will not wear like chain or cable. They are also quieter to me as they clear the tree better when climbing.
I do have several stands with cables and they work fine also, just didn't want anyone to get the impression steel V bars didn't work.

Chippawa Wedge Lock is very quick to hang, stable and quiet ... unfortunately they are no longer made. You see them in the classifieds on a rare occasion. I also have their climbing sticks that work well also.

elkken-I have a Chip wedgey also  and I would compare my old Woods and Water QQ to it. Obviously one is a climber and one is a loc-on, but there are a few similarities in my mind. They both are super strong, USA made, comfortable and safe to hunt out of, and too expensive for many of the Cabelas weekend warriors. People need to get what they want, hunt safely, and enjoy the journey. Peace!

Looks like a quality AMERICAN Made stand. Thanks but no Thanks. I wouldn't go out and spend the money just for the fact that it packs flat. I'll stick to my AMERICAN made SUMMIT Open Shot. Great price,Light as a feather, quiet, easy to use AND it works. I've killed deer out of it. That alone tells me I have faith in it. Comfortable and stable enough to make a kill shot on a Whitetail. It's QUIET! Biggest thing I didn't like about my LOGGEY Lite with the old climbing aid  was that it was noisy.    If I ever get another stand I would buy either a SUMMIT Specialist or just get the bigger base and use my SUMMIT seat/climber. Just my 2 cents.
