3-under to split finger pinch???
« on: January 13, 2014, 07:32:00 AM »
I have shot my Bushbow 3-under since I got it. I ordered a new Sasquatch and decided to try split. I thought it would be perfect timing. Sasquatch should be here in a few months, so it's a good time to practice, I thought. One problem I am having is I am getting finger pinch on my top finger ?? I am still messing around with nock point, although I should be close. Am I drawing farther? Or is it something simple like the alignment of Jupiter and Mars or the gravitational pull of the moon? I do love the sound , or lack thereof, shooting split. Thanks Guys. Have a good day.

When you first grab the string, before you draw, start with your index finger about 1/4" above the arrow shaft.  By full draw it will be down on top of the arrow.

Another alternative is a tab with a finger spacer.  I use a Cavalier Elite Cordovan with a spacer and pinch isn't an issue.

Easykeeper is right on. I do exactly like he describes except that I can get by with about an
1/8" spread.

Your problems stems from tendency to "pinch" the arrow nock between the first two fingers. Very little pressure is needed to keep the arrow in place if the nock fit is good.

Have someone sight along your arrow when at full draw. They'll likely be able to detect a bend in the shaft. That's not a good thing for consistent arrow flight.

I will give that a try. I am using two nocks. Is there a possibility I might be drawing farther? I have a long draw as it is. Thanks
