wood arrow for longbows

Hill bow 26@53lb what wood would you use , I'm thinking 45/50 with 125 points , would like to hear what you think .

If you pull an honest 26", that sounds about right.

Be prepared to go 145 grains if you cut your arrows to 27" bop or less. With a B50 string 40-45 will be a sure bet with 125 grains up front, if you cut your arrows to a proper Hill style length.

I would try a 45-50,i would start with at least 29 inches and work your way shorter.do not worry about your arrow sticking out ,and I like 125 grains.keep your arrows within a 5 grain range, and always use the same weight shaft.it is ok to go up in point weight, but start at 125grains.just my thoughts.

If you called me I would suggest 50-55 to start with and maybe 55-60 if that doesn't work.  Back tapered arrows on a long bow have some advantage.
