4,000gr arrows!
« on: January 22, 2014, 05:31:00 PM »

Interesting video. Dr. Ashby talks about the ultra-extreme FOC that these people are using and shooting these arrows out of 90# bamboo bows. The arrows look like spears!  They must be extremely skillful stalker to get to 25yds from these deer out in wide open grassland without the aid of cover.

That's cool!

I would starve though, cause there is no way I could ever pull a 90# bow!

Yep, really interesting stuff. Even though I have moved away from carbon and the FOC stuff, I still enjoys reading and listing to Dr. Arrow.

What I like is how  that fellow is able to stalk into bow range with a bright blue hat and no camo    :knothead:

Nineworlds9, you need to bump up the weight on your arrows just a little bit.    ;)

Blaino, I was impressed with their stalking ability also. Dr. Ashby said the deer are hunted regularly so they must be a little spooky.

Bjorn, good thing most guys only shoot 45#-55# bows. But there are some guys I've made arrows for that do shoot 90#+ bows. They might want to make up some unfletched "spears" and give it a try....   :saywhat:

I caught that on youtube a while back too. Amazing that to those people, 90# bows are the norm. And those arrows/spears…wow.
