LOL.  She's smiling as she reads the response from this thread.  And, as you can see from the picture... she is beaming!

Thomas,
Yes, I know how lucky I am. She has made hunting very enjoyable.

I was able to take two deer this year, and she once again showed off her cooking skills.  Yes, Joe Ashton, crock pot braised deer shanks!  Yum!!!

Floyd, we hope to be attending the Ft. Lee and Dixie shoots next month.

SARarcher, we both do Rescue Squad duty every Sunday, so the Tidewater isn't in the cards.

You should see the smile/smirk on her face... as she reads all of your responses.  Thanks guys!

The best part was that her son, his bride-to-be and her dad all saw the shot (from the kitchen window).

The son comes out of the house with a knife to "finish off" the squirrel.   But instead, as he rounds the barn corner, there stands Jen (aka - "Mom") holding the critter (and her bow/arrow) just as you see in the photo.

Yup, she earned a few "respect for traditional archery" points that day!

nice shot!
Those guys are hard to hit.
As a tip

Set rat traps around your tractor baited with peanut butter.

Not as sporting...but effective!

when dealing with destruction of property, gloves come off.

Also if you have mice in the shed the "5 gallon bucket trap" works wonders.
Filled with used oil or diesel fuel preserves them so they dont stick up the joint.
No critter passes on a free meal, no matter the risk.

Congratulations to you both - it's great to have a hunting partner in the family!
