How hard does your bow hit??
« on: January 21, 2007, 03:36:00 PM »
Jesse and I were out today doing a bit of stumping behind the "Witch Manor".
I took a shot at what I thought was a dead tree.
Turned out to be a very buch alive but barkless one one side elm tree...my ash arrow popped back about 15 feet and the judo was imbedded in the tree.
After digging it out this is what it looked like!
Kudos to Jim at Mississippi Lake Longbow for making me such a hard hitting longbow! Man, I have shot them into rocks by accident before, never have I bent the tip of one like this.
Gotta love them hard hittin' longbows!

To be honest, I bend them like that pretty often when shooting hard or frozen stumps. Been doing it for years, I think judos are notorious for bending there.

After the Muzzy shoot I always have a few bent up judos    :(

 But it's worth it     :goldtooth:

Huh, I've smushed the tips all up, never bent one though, guess I wasn't shooting a hard-hitting enuff bow!

I guess eh? they say the unloseable( we lost one today in the snow though..)head- not the "un-bendable head".

I go thru an average of 15 judos per year because of them blowing apart, bending, busting off all the prongs etc...  I talked to the maker about it and he says I shoot rocks with them but I don't.  I do shoot year round and when the stumps freeze up they get pretty hard but I probably ruin as many in the summer as I do winter.  I guess 80# boes and 800 grain arrows are pretty hard on them.

I aint never bent a Judo but I used a judo to destroy the alum shaft it was mounted to. I shot a rock and the shaft came apart like I had a load of ffg in the shaft. Found the judo and the front 8 inches of shaft were just blown all over the place. It sure looked cool while it was happening.

Now I use ash shafts.

Thought this site was to by a funny one. So here it goes.
My bow hits so hard it's been nicknamed the Bunker Buster.  :archer:
So after receiving a casette tape in a phone booth that once heard turns to smoke,,,(ya ya ya I know sounds so kewl I should make a TV series with it) to instruct as too how many and when, I just aim east at XXX degree Longi. and XXX degrees lat and let her fly.
I'd tell ya the exact degrees, but you guessed I'd have to kill ya.

I,ve bent them up a few times.Their nice heads but they can be lost(I have)and they can be destroyed (done that too LOL).I,ve been useing a rubber blunt slid over a target tip for stumpin. After awhile the tip blows thru the rubber and thats what I,m hopin to shoot bunnies with....if I shoot my carbons into the briars after them that is LOL
Shoot straight and have FUN!!
