Tip overlays
« on: February 13, 2014, 12:10:00 AM »
A little while back there was a thread where everybody was showing off their tip overlays. I've done serches everyway I can think of with no luck. I'm glueing on my tips tomorrow and was just looking for a little inspiration! Show me what you got!

I use rubber bands as the clamp for tip overlays. It gives good even pressure no what material you use of no matter what shape the tips.

I'm doing one if Kenny's bows. It's bocote with boo veneers. I put bocote overlays on the riser. I've got bocote and black phenolic for tips. Was thinking bout doing bocote, black, bocote on tips but wasn't sure if I should put the phenolic next to the glass. Or does it matter?

I had the same tips on one of my recurves. If you go to Assenheimer bows and click on custom bows  one pic is of limb tips, in the middle is bacote phen. bacote.  Good luck!
