leather grip and 3 pieces T/D bows
« on: February 16, 2014, 04:08:00 PM »
I see quite often leather grip on 1 or 2 pieces take down bows, but almost never on 3 pieces T/D bows. Does some of you guys have put a leather grip on your 3 pieces T/D bows ?

I'm thinking on putting one on my ILF Morrison riser.

here's my Pronghorn. It had a wrap on it, but I replaced it with this wrapped leather lace.

i have put one on myself - including one on a longbow style handle and another on my td 3pc recurve with a deep grip.  more difficult on the 3 piece for sure.  I'd suggest doing a search and find some 'how to' pics/videos on this site. softer leather seems to help and don't get in a hurry. sretch quite a bit and ih've also read (not tried) that you can wet and sit in the sunlight to dry to tighten up after completion.
wish I had a pic.
best of luck

I did on my Morrison metal riser ILF,I like the narrow grip.I double wrapped and lace up the front, just to break the sharp edges of the metal riser.I also did the same on a PSE 25" ILF metal riser.

I had Big Jim Beavertail the grip, strike plate,  and shelf on my Striker TDL.

I put one of those rubber Posi-grips on my Morrison ILF and also on my Shawnee--doesn't look as nice as a leather grip but does the job and doesn't hold scent.
