My folks are in Globe , Miami area. There is a little town called Pleasant Valley where my great great grandfather settled. The grave yard there is full of Tallants and my aunts and uncles and cousins still live there and in Young and Globe. My dad went to school in Pleasant Valley and never had a pair of shoes until he was 16. When I got married he was always getting after my wife because she went barefoot all the time. He could not understand why anyone that could afford shoes went barefoot. LOL.
That country is awesome country. I saw the first wild turkeys I ever saw up by Cherry Creek. What a deal!!!! Only thing I don't miss about it is the spiders and snakes. Kind of like Texas there in that everything God made that stings , sticks or bites is in abundance.
That country sure gets in your blood though.
God bless, Steve
