Black Widow question
« on: February 19, 2014, 10:11:00 PM »
Does Black Widow keep records of all the bows they have sold. I bought one about 25 years ago, sold it in 1994, and would like to try to track it down.
thanks, Joe D

Interesting question. It has always been my assumption (you know what they say about assuming) that a bow couldn't really be tracked down by the manufacturer. I'm sure that they have the record of the bow by serial number and could give you info on shipping dates and build specs.

But I don't think the bow could really be tracked unless all owners after you called them to tell them where it's new home is. I wouldn't think that bows are like vehicles (with vin numbers that follow all owners) or guns (with serial numbers that are in a huge database).

I could be way off though. It'd be cool if they could. I had a SAIII that I'd like to track down and have back.

I agree with shag08,they may have a record of when it was built if you have the serial number. But you sold it 20 years ago,I wonder how many times it may have changed hands or not?

I'm sure they have no way of tracking the bow down. But, if there is a serial number on their computer somewhere, I would like to know what it is -- just so I could be on the lookout.

Maybe if someone has sent it in to be refinished you might have a chance. I would give them a call.

It won't hurt to give a call to Black Widow.  The worst thing they"ll say to you is that they can't.  They're some of the nicest people you're ever going to meet.

If you know the serial number, they can give you all the specs on the bow. i.e when it was built, length, draw weight, etc.....

If you don't know the SN and were the orignal purchaser, contact them and they will probably be able to find the specs for you.

Where it is now? You may need to contact the psychic network. :-)

I emailed BW and got information on a vintage recurve that my cousin gave me. They still had record of my cousin's name, the date she purchased the bow new in 1959 and the sale price! Great folks to deal with and they make some fantastic bows.
