Pulling for Wannabe1...
« on: February 27, 2014, 04:49:00 PM »
My time here at Tradgang.com has revealed to me with certainty that Wannabe1 is in fact no wannabe at all, but very much an integral piece of the quilt that is this site.  He contributes much, and exemplifies the essence of what a traditional hunter really is.  “To the Days of Old…” was superbly crafted, and transcendent.

I believe he’s still after his first traditional deer?  Here’s hoping that he can soon rest his bow on the still ribs of that animal and share a photograph on the game and bow profile thread that he started for us to share ours.

Wannabe is a stand up guy and I too hope that for him. Happy hunting!

He's one of the many friends I've never met from this website.

We'll throw all the good karma and happy thoughts his way and hopefully his deer will cooperate.    :archer:

I have a fan to, its electric! Anyone want my autograph? They have spell check, maybe there should be an "Ego check" as well.
I agree with you Chase Perry, Wannabe1 is a stand up guy and I wish him all the luck in the world!

Ummm... I'm pretty sure that Dennis (longbow fanatic 1) meant to say that he is a fan of Wannabe1, not the other way around.  Dennis is a very humble and good guy, I've shot with him before.  Don't be so quick to pounce... give the benefit of the doubt!

As for Wannabe1... Best of luck this season!  I'm still after my first Trad deer too!

I couldn't agree more, Chase. I asked him on that very post (I think) about how his season went, because I was hoping that he had been able to connect on that hard sought first. He seems to be a helluva guy and I'm sure rootin' for him!

TW's good people. His hunting season was a struggle with a burn at his chosen spot, and some access issues I believe.  Hopefully 2014 will be his year.

Actually, when I was typing my message I meant to type that Wannabe1 was one of my favs (favorite people), not fans. Evidently my computer auto-corrected or I miss typed. Perhaps you could give a guy the benefit of the doubt, instead of making an assumption about me or my intended message.

You were exactly right, Roman. It is kind of funny.    :biglaugh:   How one little letter can totally change the message. Oh well, back to the purpose of this original post, i.e. pulling for Wannabe1! He's one of the many truly good people on this site.

I always look forward to TW's posts.  It's great he's back and able to hunt.  I have been at trad 4 years and still working toward that first white tail with trad gear.

It sure will be great when he does get his first trad deer, I think we are all pulling for him.

Not really sure what to say but, a most humble thanks to all of you! I consider everyone friend and have an open place at my campfire for anyone wanting to share it!

This past season was a tough one for me but, I got out every chance that was available to me. No success for venison but, any chance to get in the woods was a success for me!       :D      Been battling shoulder issues from the military and have dropped considerably in bow weight but, still able to pull the legal amount to hunt. I will be back at it again this year hopefully and thank you all for the well wishes.

I have taken a lot of information from this site and hope that my small contributions have brought favor to others. I thank Terry and the Mods for keeping this site in top shape for us, and all of you for your willingness to share experiences and lessons learned. Not to mention the great hunting stories!

For now, I'm just a Wannabe but, love traditional archery and hunting. Perhaps I will get my first, perhaps not. Either way, it is about the hunt and the journey and I really enjoy those the most!       :archer:

For what it's worth, I'm not just after my first traditional but, my first deer ever. I refuse to do it any other way than traditional.      :D

Thank you Chase and everyone! May your shooting be straight and your season a fruitful one.

If there was a way for me to have another first, it'd be how you've decided to do it.  It'll come, and when it does, soak it in.  When I shot my first turkey I shed more than one tear and not a bit ashamed of it.  Those that put so much time and effort into something such as this would only understand.
