Thinking about a new bow
« on: March 05, 2014, 04:14:00 PM »
I have a shotgun that has been sitting around and I don't use it, so I am selling it and buying a new bow. I am still new to archery, just started last year, and I am using a 45# Damon Howatt Hi-Speed which I love. I would really like to add a takedown recurve to my arsenal though. What recommendations would you guys have in about the $300 range (or if you recommend looking for a particular used one in that range, I would think about that as well.) Thanks.

Jump on the classifieds. I've seen some amazing bows lately in the $3-400.

Hunters Niche Predator works for me.  Used your likely to pay $400-$500.

I have a Hoyt Dorado that I use.  It's not as pretty as the wood riser bows but it does throw an arrow with the best of them.

I agree about keeping a eye on the classifides for a good takedown recurve . When you get cash in hand post wtb takedown recurve in classifides and you will find you a good bow

Or, a Samick Sage for 130 bucks. Slap a ff string on it and it shoots better than a lot of custom bows I've shot or owned, just another option.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I did plan in checking the classifieds after I have cash in hand. That is how I find my first recurve as well.
