Done the drive to western Colorado 17 times, to Arizona, new mexico, it is part of the trip. Granted when I was in my 20s it was a lot easier, we still drive it straight through but have been considering breaking up the 24hr drive into two days the last few years.

Not quite cross country, but have driven four times (and will again this year drive) 16 -18 hours for elk hunting in CO.

I love road trips, especially if hunting is involved.

Cannot do the driving thing anymore. Jump on a plane in Baltimore in the morning and setting in New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, where ever that same afternoon. All rested and ready to hunt the next day. I gain at least 2 full days hunting by flying over driving and it is cheaper for me. Only set back is the Airport Hassle and getting that great wildgame meat home when you harvest a animal.Should be my year for that elusive AZ ElK Tag. Fingers crossed 15 points.

Take care everyone and travel safe

I drove solo (23 hours) last year from WV to CO to elk hunt. Will probably be doing the same this year.

Some people HATE driving, but I rather enjoy it... at least when I can stop and take a walk a couple times a day, eat light and drink plenty of water.

Safe traveling everyone!

About 1200 mi and 18 hrs to our place in the Bighorn Mtns. WY from WI.  Done it a handful of times and not so bad, lots to see along the way (critters) once you get past the Missouri R.

Word of advise to help those long hauls, books on tape.  Just got back from a solo trip to TX, just short of 1500 miles.  Have done CO solo also and will do it again.  I have a small pop up PU camper so when I get sleepy just pull over and take a nap.  On the way back the inverter got a short and I had no heat, 22 degrees and 2 sleeping bags.
