Bear Grizzly diffrences
« on: March 29, 2014, 11:30:00 AM »
I have just bought my first Grizzly and when looking at the Bear website I noticed that the bow has not been changed since 1964, as the bow was first made in 1949-1950 what changes were made before 1960?

The 1968-70 were 56" so there were a couple of changes after 1964.

If you do a search in the history/collecting section you should bring up some great threads with lots of info.

There were several changes after 1964 and before.

If you do some searches on the history and collecting forum here you can learn a lot.  Grizzlys are my favorite Bear model.  1964 are hard shooting and beautiful.  You have a very nice one!  My personal favorite years are 1959-1963, and 1967.  However my hunting bow has been a 1972.

Congrats on a great bow!

The 64-67 design is different from the later design, kinda pointed on the back of the riser and the grip is different.  Starting in 68 the back of the riser is rounded and the grip a little lower and narrower.  I have a 67 Grizzly that I consider on of the best bows I own.  Great grip and feel, wonderful shooting bow and fine performance.
