Brace Height & Shooting in a String
« on: September 19, 2007, 03:53:00 PM »
am i on to something, has anyone else done this. while shooting in a new string today i noticed that after about 2 shots the string would stretch out about 1/8 inch. so i twisted it back up past what i know this bow likes, 7 7/8" brace. any way i would shoot 2 arrows then re check the brace. consistently dropped down 1/8".

so here's where the light bulb switched on. i listen to the bow noise and noted where it gets real quiet. as i suspected it was at 7 7/8".

just thought some of with a new bow or an old bow for that matter that you don't know what brace height it likes you can put a new string on and kill two birds with one stone. shooting in a new string and finding the correct brace height. it beats the heck out of having to take the string off and twisting it up or down when tuning.

I can see it now,
Rob's Revolutionary Brace Height Tuning Device, just $29.99.  Once you've used it to find your bow's correct brace height, you can use it as a string.  It can also be used to help find the appropriately spined arrows for your bow.  Just place your unfletched arrow on the device and shoot.  If your arrow flies towards the right of your fletched arrow cut 1/4" off unfletched arrow until both fletched and unfletched arrows group together.  This amazing device may also be used to find the right position for your nocking point.  But wait!  There's more!  You can use Rob's Revolutionary Brace Height Device to hang your bow, either at home or from a tree while hunting.  Don't miss this special offer that will NEVER be offered in stores.  :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:    :biglaugh:

Sorry Rob, I couldn't resist.
