another arrow spine question
«

I am shooting a Striker stinger longbow 54# at 29 1/2 draw, just wondering about opinions on arrows. Right now I'm shooting full length Gold tip Gt's 55/75 with 50 gr brass insert and 175 gr tip. Not the best arrow flight but usable, I was wondering about if anyone thought this is too stiff/weak ? and any other arrow options(brand) anyone has had exp with. was thinking about trying a skinny carbon also.Any help would be appreciated...Gary

Are your arrows cut or full length? They may be on the stiff side even having 225 up front.

I shoot 50# at my 29 1/2" DL and use 32" 5575's with 250gr up front. The archer can and does influence what works, but my guess based on personal experience would be that at 54#, you are somewhat weak!
Only tuning, wether paper or bare shaft will give you the correct answers to your questions!

I've had to use 100gr. inserts with 175gr. points for bows in the 55#@28" range. Degree of center shot and string type can make big differences.

I would guess at slightly weak too. If I load them up just a hair heavier up front, they fly well out of my 43# - 46# bows.
I'd suggest cutting just one shaft down 1/4" at a time and see if the flight doesn't improve.

Easier to temporarily build out your side plate, a little at a time. If you are weak now building out your side plate should give you a good idea where your at. By the way I shoot #53 @ 29" and find 32" 55/75's with 275gr up front fly great for me.

Do a search on the Easton Full Metal jacket...I shoot a variety of arrows but for hunting I pretty much stick with the FMJ and VPA two blade
