absolute beauty! if i were on the list id have a hard time deciding between the tiapan or the m/s. did you get a chance to run some arrows thru the chrono??

So specs on the bow are 53 pounds at 25 inches.  I was shooting a 16 strand flemish twist made of BCY 8190 served with Halo .019 and dual cat whisker string silencers on each end.  Speeds listed are for an average of 10 shots.  With the 531 grain arrow I averaged 169 fps and the 720 grain arrow averaged 157 fps.  Considering my short draw length and the fact this is basically about as traditional as a long bow design can get and still use glass those are respectable numbers.  What I found interesting was I expected more of a drop to the heavier arrow.  Either way I don't care what the speed is because the bow shoots extremely smooth and very quiet.

the way james is making the grips on the taipans now there is no need to alter the riser design.   Grips are only 1" wide and very old school feel to them

Not a problem. If you ever want to chrono a bow just let me know and I will either meet or leave the chrono at Mr. Berry's shop. To be honest I almost hate to use the chrono because there is always someone bigger, faster and better according to some digital device.  Well two years ago I was hunting with a cutting edge compound that fired arrows at 333 fps on average.  End result was a dead deer.  Last year I was shooting a light recurve because it is what I could afford and it was shooting in the same speed ball park as the Morning Star.  End result dead deer and I was actually really satisfied with the trad kill.  Guess what I'm saying is numbers never tell the whole story!  What the chrono will do is tell when your release needs work.
