Sky Archery
« on: April 20, 2014, 12:03:00 PM »
I just dropped off a Union Jack Longbow to Sky Archery to have it refinished. I spent about an hour talking to Jim Belcher and was impressed with his knowledge and history. The bow I dropped off was built in 1998 and we checked the poundage on the scales and the tiller of the bow.  They're the same as they were when he built it.  I'm having about 5 lbs. of the weight removed. He described the things he'll be doing with the bow and it will be like new when I get it back.  I highly recommend his craftsmanship.

Jim makes an excellent bow, I have a Sky Thunder recurve, what a powerhouse of a bow. It drives my arrows further onto my target than any other bow I have shot. Jim knows his business. I think due to the fact others make prettier bows, Sky doesn't get the recognition they deserve. If you are looking for a bow that performs as you want it, Sky Archery is it.

I have recently bought several sky ilf risers and limbs and I could not be happier. Great people who work hard to please their customers.  Highly recommend Sky bows.

I had several Sky bows before Mr. Belcher owned the company.  The one-piece Eagle, which he still makes for a very modest price, was one heck of a bow.

I own one of Jim's "Union Jack" long bows. 66", 57@28. A great shooting bow. Jim is a outstanding bowyer with a vast amount of knowledge. He is a real craftsman.
