Just put one on a 62" Chimera.  Cant tell much difference from the string that was on it which was what looked like a Centaur provided string or maybe it was a SBD also. SBD strings are well built and have excellent customer support IMO. Both strings seemed to be "skinny".

I just put one on my Selway Lil Mag - consider it a glass Centaur - and I'm very pleased with it. Previously had a slightly different 8 strand two bundle on it, and a three bundle, 9 strand before that: both well made strings.
After about a week of shooting, I find the SPD a little more quiet, both to my ear, and in my bow hand.

Does your bow have carbon in the limbs? IMO it is not any louder but has a different tone to it.
Take care,
Jason

Yup, they all wear them. Along with my Widows, Bears, Toelkes, Predators, Shrews, McCulloughs, Tall Tines, RERs and Kwyk Styks. Not a better string out there

The strings Jim makes for the Centaurs are made from Rhino, a very good fastflight material developed for cross bows.  Jim has specifically chosen it for its durability, noise level, lack of stretch, and energy transfer.  SBD are made from D10 which is also great stuff, frankly not sure that there is much difference in the end materials wise, but me personally since a Centaur is such a no-compromises bow why not get one of Jim's strings that he specifically intended to work with the bow as he designed it?  Just a thought.  Don't get me wrong, I love Pierre's strings.  But Jim isnt just slapping together a half assed string just to make the bow 'functional'...he lays them up a certain way, he uses a particular loop size to work with the bows nock grooves, etc.  Might sound silly to some but my Centaur bows will wear a Centaur string.  You gotta love the Navajo wool silencers too.  Great stuff.  And yes the Carbon/boo bows have a slightly different tone and shot feel vs the glass.  The glass feel/sound softer.

I guess my bottom line is Jim puts a lot of thought and effort into every thing he makes/designs/sells.  He's all about the total package.

I've had SBD strings on most of my bows and in every case it made the bow quieter and actually made the arrows a bit weaker.
Except when I put one on my dwyer dauntless, a r/d similar in profile to the centaur, it did change the tone and feel of the shot.  I wouldn't say louder, just different.  I put cat whiskers, wool puffs, string leeches and even combinations of them on the string.  Eventually I went back to the supplied string.
Mind you, I'm an SBD believer, just that one bow for whatever reason didn't care for that string.

I think Rick Bar bee makes the strings for all the Centaurs...or at least he did.  I've bought many strings from Rick in the past and really liked them. However, I also really like SBD strings and have gone to using them on my last 10 or so bows (i tend to buy/sell a lot).  Recently I bought a Centaur triple carbon. I accidentally nicked the string on it so I replaced it with an SBD. I've been very satisfied and see no need to change. It actually seems to soften the different sounds that carbon limbs seem to make.

On a side note, I get my SBD strings from. Braveheart Archery. He always has what I need and shipping is the fastest in the business. I'm impatient so it works well  :)

Jasper2 yes my bow is a triple carbon with xtl ,
nineworlds9 I hear what you are saying and I agree Jim builds a great bow ,if its just the tone of the carbon that Im hearing Ill live with it because this bow is awesome.
Also I shoot three under and I did raise the nock a little and I messed with the brace height some.I bareshafted and paper tuned my arrows and as long as I do my part the arrows fly true.I am just trying to get this bow setup as perfect as possible for me,Im thinking this is going to be my go to bow. Thanks for all the replies guys
