moultrie camera saucer eyes- no more!
« on: September 21, 2007, 07:55:00 AM »
Guys,
We all have seen the huge moon saucer eyes that a lot of cameras with flashes take.  I have a new M4, and made a small adjustment to help reduce the flash effect.  Lift up the cover and tape a square piece of white paper towel over the flash.  It disperses the flash lighting just enough to not have huge saucers in the eyes.  It still has great range, and makes the eyes small white spots now.  I'm going to pick my camera up today at lunch and will post a few pics later.

Good idea.   I've done something similar with my 35mm camera flash but never thought of using it on a trailcam.

Bringing this topic back up, hope to get some more answers.  In the topic about camera flash, Deadbolt mentioned using red plastic film to reduce flash and not scare game.
While the spooking game may be not agreed upon by many, the red film may reduce the moon or saucer eyes.
Anyone have results with this or with white paper towel "filters"?
Dan
