Need a quick rundown on Zipper bows
« on: May 06, 2014, 07:40:00 AM »
Will someone give me a quick rundown on the various risers offered by Zipper? Are longbow and recurve limbs interchangeable for each riser? The more I see these bows, the more interested I become. Thanks

Yes.  I have an SXT with longbow limbs but i could put recurve limbs on it if I want to.

Contact Bill at Zipper 937-444-0904. He is great to talk to. He has 6 different handles and all the limbs are not interchangeable. He will be able to answer your questions and send you down the right path.

9 Shocks is correct, if you have a SXT handle you can get long bow or recurve limbs and swap them back and forth...

16" risers: Standard and Extreme
14" risers: SXT,ZSR,and Nitro.

The SXT and ZSR have a slimmer riser profile. The limbs on these 2 bows are interchangeable. The same limbs will be 2 pounds heavier on an SXT then on a ZSR riser. Due to the slimmer profile, these limbs will also not be compatable  with the 16" risers.

The limbs are interchangeable between the Standard and Extreme risers. The Extreme will also be 2 pounds heavier, then if they were on a Standard riser.

The Nitro is a completely different animal. The limbs will not work on any of the other Zipper risers.

Hope this helps !!! Please correct me if I screwed up anything Bill.   :D

I have 2 SXT recurve and they are much more nice and proportioned when you have them in your hands.
They are some of the fastest and best shooters you can buy, very quiet too,out of more than 20 makes I own they are the quitest.

Last year I hunted with a SXT with carbon/foam LB limbs. I love the bow. I introduced my self to Bill and Tracy at Denton hill just to meet the guy who made my bow, they could not have been nicer or easier to talk to! Great people great bows!
