Striker Broadheads
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:38:00 AM »
I would prefer not to sharped broadheads, as I get limited success.  To that end, i was looking at the G5 Striker broadheads as an option.  Replacement blades and a steel body with a sharp tip.
Has anyone here used them with success?

Striker was one of the broadheads in a very if not one of the best test I have ever seen it was in outdoor life mag. They did VERY GOOD and I recommended them to a compound shooter and he is in love with them I know they are not traditional but I feel they will do good for you. I do not like the company myself but I can not deny this is a good head. Good luck     Widow

I have some friends that shoot compounds and that is all they will use. They are replaceble blade heads so not really "traditional" but in that matter if their what you want to use and you have difficulty sharpening other heads then I say use them. They will work very well for you.

I've been using G5 Strikers 100gr in my compound for several years now. I've had nothing but great success.
I will say for my traditional bows I've always used COC 2 blades.

If you don't like sharpening, why not go with a Magnus stinger?

I prefer three blades.  Looked at two blades but I am working up in poundage and will be shooting around 51# for hunting season.

I bought three dozen striker 125's on clearance at the local Gander Mountain several years ago..like 2008, before the magnums. I have taken them to Michigan, Texas, Africa and of course Pennslyvania. I love them, sharpen the ferrule on the diamond stone and slap in some new lutz blades and they are crazy sharp. My wife shoots the 100 grs with great success also. They are hard to beat imao, and they fly great. I'm still shooting them to lol.

I also used them for a few years with the compound with good success. They fly really well, and are the sharpest out of the package broadhead I have ever seen. But the blades do have a tendency to rattle a bit. I made the switch to Magnus stingers, and haven't looked back. After a few seasons, you'll accumulate enough to always stay in true spinning and sharp broadheads. Two years ago, I sent in 9 four blade stingers that were bent, broken, or otherwise unsharpenable, and received 9 brand new ones in replacement for the cost of shipping (about $5). They stand behind their lifetime guarantee, no questions asked! And they are the easiest broadhead to re sharpen to hair shaving sharp.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
