Well, I pulled the pin, took the plunge, made the call...  My loving wife told me I should treat myself for Father's Day and order a new bow I have been longing for over the past few years.

This afternoon I called Abe Penner and discussed a 2 piece featherhorn.  62", looking at around 56@26".  The only thing I am certain of is that I want yew on the belly.  I am leaning to a cocobolo riser but am not married to the idea.  I want something other than yew on the back; bacote, kingwood, suggestions?
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

Oh my.  Have Abe send some pics.   He has a ton of awesome veneers and woods to pick from.  Even stuff prettier than plain grain yew.  Yew is good stuff though.  You made a good choice for a bow.  I have a 2pc Slynx on order.  Congrats and good luck.

Should be a great choice.  Look on the classifieds as I have a Toelke Whip in Coco and Yew for sale there.  You can see the color contrast in the pics.  Hope it helps and best of luck.

I second Koa.  Check out my Tuktu thread by doing a search and you'll see my Koa veneers.  Pretty neat stuff.
