Man, there are deer everywhere!! I even found a fefresh rubs. I took down two not-so-productive stands and a buddy and I scouted around a bit. Found a huge red oak in the middle of the nasty stuff....briars, wild roses, etc and its all bordered by a lake/swamp. When I set up the stand, I sat down and looked around. I counted eight different trails within 20 yards!
Then I stopped and checked my "good" stand which is surrounded by white oaks....acorns everyhwere, deer sign all over. I even found some stumps and rotten logs all torn up...hmm wonder what did that?! Probably the bear that left the scat ten yards from that tree...
Then off to the third stand. I moved that to the Northern edge of a doe bedding area and found numerous heavy trails, and a cluster of five white oaks. Black birch tree had a hemlock next to it...couldnt resist. I found bear scat there too! Not to mention a few rubs on saplings....some old some new.
Should be a good year to go trad...
