My number will be coming up this summer for another Berry bow. Iam torn between the Taipan and Argos and really need some information to tip me one way or the other.
I know there are several of you that have shot both so please chime in.
Iam a stickler for a quiet bow, so would like to know how you would compare them. I assume the Taipan would be a little more forgiving on the shot because of being a forward riser, similar to the Morningstar. Is one noticeably quicker? I ask as this bow would be mainly used for antelope. The specs would be 64" 58@29" and I would be shooting a 625 gr arrow. Any thoughts on this would be helpful because I keep going back and forth. Both are beautiful bows, the ones I've seen, but can only get one this year. Thanks for your help, Mike

Hey Mike....I'm in the same situation that you're in ! My number should be coming up pretty quick and I'm so torn about which Berry bow to order. At first I wanted a MS, then a Vixen, then a Taipan and now I'm leaning toward the Argos... I'm more confused than Mike Tyson at a spelling bee ! I like a very mild RD,deep core, narrow limb hill style longbow, which is why I'm leaning toward the Argos. I'm very curious about the forgiveness that a forward handle design offers ! HELP

LOL Steve, We're following the same trail. Last summer I got the MS and then the Vixen, both great bows but 66" which is a little tight in my pop-up. That's why I want a 64", which is just an excuse to get another Berry bow.
The MS is my first forward handle and everything I've read about them is true; very forgiving and just seem to shoot well with great pointability. Pretty quiet and behaves well on the loose.
Good luck in your search but I'am afraid one just leads to another. Mike

Now that really clears things up.  :)

I agree with Rob  :)

They are both excellent choices. Maybe call James and see what he thinks will for you best!

I agree with Rob also and that's what makes this so difficult. Can't go wrong with either one. Really liked the pics of your beauty. Thanks, Mike

Dood....you live in Idaho.  Gas up and Go!  James don't bite (hard anyway).    :D

Again I'm with Rob  :)

I think the real question is which one should you get first  :)

Sounds like a great idea.

That's a tough call and one that has no wrong answers.

If your wanting the classic longbow look, but with the added benefits of a mild d/r go with the Argos.

The taipan seems to acquire the target a hair faster for me, and the natural pointability of the taipan is unmatched by any other bow for me.   For aerials and moving targets I tend to lean towards my taipan over ally other bows.

My Argos is just a hard hitter that puts me right where you want them too.

Again, whatever choice you make it will be a good one.

Thanks Brian thats what I was looking for. Know I can't go wrong with either. Last time I was at James's he didn't have any to shoot so thought I would try here. Appreciate your time, Mike

Ah, you've already made the pilgrimage to Medical Lake and have not found the answers you seek.     :banghead:

Performance-wise they're right there together.  I think it comes down to a matter of which style suits you better really.  I would think the Taipan would be more forgiving with the forward riser like Brian mentioned, and like my Morningstar has proven to me, but I have found no need to make my Argos apologize to me yet.    :D

Thanks for your thoughts Rob, every little bit helps to paint a picture. My Morningstar is everything I could want in a forward riser so feel that base is covered. Probably go with the Argos with the wedge riser since it seems to be a matter of aesthetics. Probably end up with both anyway.  :D  Thanks again for your time.

On June 20-21-22 there is a Traditional tournament just a couple of miles out of Medical Lake. Would be a great time to come. The shoot is allot of fun.

Boy that sounds good to me Dan. I'll try and make it over, for one day anyway.

Just found out my antelope bow will double as a GOAT bow. Gonna be busy this year.
