Great day on the 3/D course........
« on: June 08, 2014, 03:25:00 PM »
Went with the wife to a shoot this morning. Shot with KAT, Vintage45 and my wife. Had a great time, was using my new to me RER Arroyo to see if I may want to hunt with it. We all shot fair except for KAT.......He shot excellent 270+ out of 300. The best part was my wife....she is fairly new to this whole game, she shot a 157 even though she had 9 missed targets. Nice weather.....no bugs......no crowd. Oh, and I'm thinking I'm keeping the Arroyo for a while...lol!

What surprises me with the wife......I got her set up with an ILF rig, 25# @ 25"........she is shooting 90% of the shots right with the big boys...pretty cool how she has progressed.

I really enjoyed today, but one of the best parts of the day is seeing how Ron's wife, Denise has progressed.  I don't recall having shot that well after a half dozen times out. We are all going to be lagging behind if she gets time to start practicing.
The only bad part of today was the lack of shooters. It was a great course with picture perfect weather. The parking lot was only half full.

Yea..... Lack of shooters is a problem. When the Trad. class has as many as the compound class it makes you wonder how long they can afford to put these events on. It makes for great shooting , no waits, and free moving from station to station.

My best gal and I went out Sunday too over here in WI.

It was a beautiful day, no bugs, not many shooters, nice to be in the woods.

I've been out the last 5 Sundays in a row and I've noticed a lot less shooters this year.

In any case, you can't beat a good day shooting 3D.

I can't shoot 3Ds 'cause I'm working every weekend. Sure would love to though.

How'd you do, Ron? You gave everyone's score but yours, lol. Not that it really matters, just curious.

LOL......198, the wife shot 157, not bad for shooting just over a year with 6-7 shoots and a few stump trips under her belt! As long as she is having fun......

Sounds like a great time!  Denise will have to take a handicap step back at the next Rockwood!
