Black Widow PMA and CX Heritage 350s?
« on: June 18, 2014, 11:57:00 AM »
Hello and good morning everyone!

I have arrow questions I am hoping you all can help me with. I have a Black Widow PMA III that 64" and 62@29. On my scale it shows 64@30. I draw 29&3/4. I am wanting to try out some carbon express heritages.

Will the 350's work out of this setup with a 50 grain brass insert and a point somewhere around 150 and 200 grains or will they be to stiff?

Thank you guys!

I am shooting cx 350 mahems with 250 up front. My draw weight is 64 on my widow also. The mayhams are a .330 deflection

I would say you should be ok, especially since PMA's are cut 3/16 past center.

Not so sure. . .  I shoot a BW at 55# @ 30.  I am set up for your exact specs, same shafts etc.  HOWEVER, I had to drop to 210gr total on front end to get get 31" length to bare shaft perfect.

Ksdan,

So, if I understand you correctly, from your experience I will probably have to lower how much I want up front to get these shafts to bare shaft tune?

By the way thank you!

I shoot the 350s from my plxs with a 100 brass insert and a 260/300 tip, they fly great

Lore-  Right. From my experience here you may need a stiffer spine. Decreasing the tip wt. may do it for you.  But you are still drawing 10# more than I at the same draw length!  I will be curious if you can make the 350s work.  You may have to go to something else at a .300 spine like a GT 7595. (The 350s are a .320 spine)

Do post your resolve.  I will be curious. . .

Tried out some 350's and Dan my results were along your thoughts. They few okay at 30" with the standard nsert and 125 grain field point but that just doesn't give me the weight I am looking for up front.

I'm going to go ahead and go with the GT Traditional 7595. Thanks for all the input.

Yup.  Suspected such. . .  Agree too that you may want more up front.

BTW- I got into a frustrating bind as the .300 spine (7595s) just demanded way too much wt. up front for me (like 400+). The .320 (H 350s) tune well, but as mentioned I have 210gr on the front end.  I do wish I had a bit more foc- but these really do fly well.  So- H350s give me that 600ish gr arrow, 210 up front, 30.5" draw, out of a BW curve @ 55#.  Pretty flat shooting out to 40 yds with good wt = pretty decent killing machine.

Thanks for posting.
