Info on Robertson Vision with pierce pts
«

I recently picked up this Robertson Vision with Pierce Points. 68", 52# @ 29”. Nice bow. Looks like bocote veneers. I don’t see this model or PP on his website. Can anyone fill me in on when he may have made them, what they typically cost on a new bow, etc?
This is not an offer for sale or question of current value. Just looking for background on the bow.

Give Vikki a call. She will have all of that info.

I believe they were still available a few years back. Mine is five years old. (Edit) No, mine is seven. I shot mine last night a few shots, it is still a remarkable bow, but I shoot mostly left handed these days.

Yeah they were done a few years back....Vikki or Dick should be able to fill you in more on it....nice bows and after Jerry Pierce passed one or two bowyers used that design in thier bows...lot of work from what I understand.
Great bow you have there....

I have a couple of Dick's Pierce Point, they are recurve though.
I think he started to build them around 1997/98 and went through the first few years of 2000.
He quit making them because too much work was involved,he was charging $250 back then.

Looks like a Mystical. He started making bows with the help of Dale Jasperson in the late 70's. It was one of his first design's and his favorite. It was replaced by the Purist, and later models. I think the Mystical was one of the best. He used Locust, Red Elm and similar woods. Bocote was used much later.

I did not answer the entire original post. Mine is a Quest and I paid right at $1000 for it. I bet at 68" that is a sweet shooting bow, versatile with Hill style form, very forgiving and accurate. You cannot get a new one, so you maybe should just shoot it until you wear it out. I would bet that it won't wear out and it is questionable that you will find a better bow if it matches your shooting style.

Dick's tweaked the design and construction of his longbow(s) over the years. One of the earlier names was the Mystical. He produced the Purist about the same time. Pretty much the same bow, but with narrower tips. Then the Vision, and about a half-dozen years ago, the Primal Styk. May have been a few other models/names as well. I'd guess your bow is between 5 and 10 years old. Nice bow.

It IS a nice bow! It does say Vision on the bow:
I will call the Robertsons, but I had the thought that I might hear some worthwhile information from those of you who have experience with these bows. Thanks for the responses, guys.

I have shot his recurves but never his longbows....searched for the right Purist or Vision for couple years and finally ordered a new Primal Styk from him a month or two ago....tired of waiting. He was one of if not THE FIRST bowyer to make a reflex/deflex longbow and his have always been known to be great performers with a super smooth draw.
You got one to hold on to for sure....

Vision, is newer model and looks like Bocote with bamboo core and Bocote lams. I have a Mystical, Purist and Fatal Styk. The latter has Bocote in the handle, lams and bamboo core. Great shooting bows.

Hud, you might have known Bill Edwards. He lived here in WA. Had a lot of nice bows.

I had a TD purist with pierce points. It blew up about a year and a half ago. Think it was a 99 or 2000 model. I recently replaced it with a Primal styk with a bow bolt connection. Very nice bow. I can tell Dick has tweaked the design some. This new one has a bit more zip than older ones I've shot but it's still super quiet.

Nice bow! I had a TD Purist with a hinge fail too. I ordered a bolt-Primal and received it about a month ago. It's now my end all, be all bow. I can't get over how well I shoot this thing. If any of you guys get the chance, I highly recommend a bolt-Primal.
