Need a solution
« on: July 02, 2014, 09:51:00 AM »
I have some gold tip 5575 arrows I used with a compound that are about perfect with my new Toelke Takedown Whip( 58 and 65# @28) but they are literally just a 1/4 inch too short. I have put brass rings on the broadheads and it is almost perfect. I have looked for a screw in weight system where you screw it into the insert then screw your broadhead into it, but no luck. I have even tried to look for longer nocks or nock collars. All I need is a quarter inch and they are golden. Any suggestions would be appreciated? Happy 4 th everyone.

Probably not what you're going to like to hear, but get with Big Jim and buy some more. With being that short of a need, I don't think any adapter would work. The threads would be too close.

If you could get the inserts out and shim it out with 1/4" of shaft material, reinsert the insert, then aluminum foot, you might be OK, but buying another half doz is easier and more true.

Or become a contributor and sell what you have to cover buying more/trading for more.

How long BOP are your current ones?

Gold tip makes 20 Grain Nock Adapters that would give you about 1/2"-5/8" increased length. They just push in the nock end of the shaft, then push your nock in the coupler like normal. They will stiffen the dynamic spine of the arrow a little but I doubt it will be unacceptable. It's what I would do in your shoes if looking for a simple fix...

Thank you guys. I am going to try the nock adapters it will give me all i need, and adding some weight to the front to offset the spine issues.

You could also leave the existing insert in and foot over with a length of aluminum and a new insert. It can add up to an inch depending on insert.

The Gold tip nock adapters  will give me 5/8  combined with brass rings should be enough to keep the broadhead from hitting my bow at full draw.  Did not hit at all when I first got the bow a 1 1/2 weeks ago, but from shooting my back muscels have have caught up and when I draw it barely hits the bow. Thank you guys for the suggestions. I think the nock adapters will be enough to give me the peace of mind that no matter how loose I am I will not hit the riser.

Just a follow up Bud B you were dead on for my 65# whip gotta have new arrows had a beaman centershot 400 cut to 29.75 Dan Toelke sent me to test ant it flys like a dart out of both my 65# and 58# whips. But in the process of trying to find a solution for the 65 # I built an arrow that flys like a dart out of the 58# it's 601 grains with 300 grains on the tip and flys amazing so all was not lost!! Thank u guys again for the suggestions.
