Yea I have concealed carry also. Not about the gun at home but the gun you have on you. Sad now a days we have to carry but I do every day. Years ago I was putting up a stand when I hung it and got in it 2 big dogs were looking at me. They layed down and just watched me. About an hour later they left. I had no gun on me. When I got down I made a spear out of a sapling. Never seen them again. Just never know.

A coy Dog, cross between a dog and a coyote can look different, depending on the dog. This one I don't think is pregnant...maybe it just had a yuppie for lunch..   :dunno:

Yuppie for lunch. The new white meat.    Years ago I hunted a farm or a bunch of farms next to Jefferson proving ground in Indiana. The old farmers said people would drop off unwanted dogs by it all the time. He said the coy dogs were a big problem. I never seen one but would not want to run into one.

Ron that looks like a fat coyote in summer hair. Your right about coy dogs looking different. A hound like dog and coyote will look like a dog. A shepherd or husky like dog and coyote can look like any other coyote. Dogs have shorter noses and shorter wider canines. For the most part. coy dogs will have bigger feet also. For the most part. Have had ferrel dogs come in before ,scary they are not afraid of you like a coyote or coyote crosses. Coy dogs are really kind of scarce Dogs and coyotes hate each other. And their language is diferrent. Happy coyote tails down happy dog or wolf tails up ect.

I need to get out and go calling this got me going.

Sounded just like a coyote to me.  I have a resident pack that lives right by my house and the fire up every evening.  They have learned that if they come within 400yds they are most likely gonna meet a 180grn 300wsm.  I get one every fee months and that seems to keep em off of my property.

Yep.  Definitely a squatch...

Interesting sounds though.  I am no expert but the coyotes around us don't vocalize that much when not in a pack
