Well now I’ve got myself in a fix. I decided I had too many bows and should cut things back to just 3 or 4 and shoot primarily just one, with the others as entertainment if I wanted some variety.
I’ve been wanting to try a Hill style bow for a long time and found a JD Berry in the classifieds. Bow is on the way, but that meant I needed to sell at least two and preferably three or four.
I took my right-hand Kevin Cramer 50’s style recurve with me to a 3-D shoot yesterday, but it didn’t sell at $150. I had a Big Foot Yeti that I found really interesting, but wanted to keep my bows in the mid-to-upper 40’s so I put it up for sale. Not too much interest in that 42# Yeti, so when I was offered a trade for a Treadway Black Swamp 47# I jumped at the chance. My thinking was that a 47# bow would be easier to sell than a 42#.
My dilemma? The Treadway came in yesterday while I was at the 3-D shoot. Now I can’t sell the darned thing. It shoots as well as any bow I’ve ever owned and better than most. It has a finish that surpasses ANY bow I’ve ever owned and I’ve had some nice ones. It's like looking down through an inch of crystal clear glass to the markings and then another inch to the veneers. Chechen and maple riser, birdseye maple veneers. So much for thinning the herd :(
