crossing a fine line.......
« on: September 24, 2007, 06:00:00 PM »
I'm sure this has probably been done before, but I am still getting a kick out of it. You have all heard the "are carbons traditional" phrase well here's my answer I guess. I figure I'll really surprise the wheelie boys when they see this!

And to top it off it flies great! I think I'll make up a few more!

Obsidian head epoxied into a short glue to thread adapter. Total weight 121 grains! I figure on a carbon with a 100 grain brass insert it should be plenty deadly on the local whitetails!

:clapper:   What kind of Target Media are you using to test it? It sure looks like it would do the job.

Kinda Curious of what Mickey will have to say on it.  ;)   LOL

Ron, I just got a foam block I shoot them into. I have used heavier heads on wood forever but this is uncharted territory for me!

You harvested the carbon shaft from your carbon tree, didn't you?  Then trimmed it to length with your paleolithic wheel saw and fletched it with cro-magnon tape?  Man, I'd say you're ready to go!  The only "laws" that may apply may concern width and barbs.  Otherwise, go hunting!  Let us know how it works!      :clapper:

Plenty wide 1" exactly and there perfectly legal in Indiana, and Illinois been shooting them on woodies for a long time. I originaly made this up as more of a joke but after shooting it I may try it!

my buddy Tim Ott made up some like that a year or two ago. Don't know if he ever hunted with them though.

Carbon Tree?
