DIY Archery Elk Hunt

I'm (2 hunters)planning to go archery elk hunting in the fall of 2015. Possably Idaho.I live in PA
  Went on a guided rifle hunt in the earley 90's
but this is basicily new to me.
  Were looking at setting up in a campground then
hunting for 2or3 days before we return to our main camp.
  What gear will I need & What Zones should I look at?
