A black onyx with medium black max carbon limbs has been my go to hunting bow since 2009.

I own 20+ bows, but always come back to the black onyx/black max combination as the season draws near.

The highly deflexed riser "points" very well.

I had that rig for a bit to try it.  Good solid shooter, comfy grip and mass weight.  Can't see how you'd go wrong.  Definitely skip the regular BM limbs and go for the BM Carbons.  Trust me.

I have one with the medium Black Max carbon/wood limbs. It points well with the deflexed riser, draws smooth, easy to shoot accurately and is a quiet bow!

I just picked up an Onyx this week and put some WW Windstorm carbon medium recurve limbs on making a 58" bow. Very nice grip...a solid riser. I'd like to see it in a 17" version
